'JUST SAY YES,' THE EAST
END'S ONLY IMPROV TROUPE,
UNLEASHES MADCAP COMEDY
THIS SUMMER IN THE HAMPTONS
Fresh from it's successful 5 week run at Alison
Resturant in Bridgehampton the comedy improv group "Just Say Yes"
will unleash its comic mayhem this summer.
The East End of Long Island's only home-grown
comedy troupe is organized by the acclaimed lead artist Jonathan
Peters who will put his troupe, and some lucky members of the
audience, through its comedic paces in a fun-filled, participatory
evening. Current members of "Just Say Yes" include Jonathan Peters,
Josh Perl, Marcus Johnson, Stephan Scheck, Susan Cincotta, Michael
Horn, Lydia Franco-Hodges and Dan Becker.
"Just Say Yes" presents comedy without a net,
because most of show is improvised on the spot from suggestions
given by the audience. Often starting with a single random idea,
like a location or a relationship, the cast will create characters
and situations that will soon have the audience rolling in the
aisles.
Some of the crowd favorites at recent
performances at Alison Restaurant include "How About A Song" when
performers engaged in a scene broke into an impromptu song at the
request of the audience. In "Household Olympics" a mundane activity
such as floor mopping, was volunteered by the audience, and the
"Just Say Yes" troupe created a hilarious sports event including
play by play and on the field interviews. Interrogation Room is a
very funny game that features two detectives using puns and
innuendo to get their prisoner to guess the dastardly crimes he has
committed as suggested by the audience.
